વસુદેવ
વસુદેવ યદુવંશી શૂર અને મારીષાના પુત્ર, શ્રીકૃષ્ણના પિતા, કુંતીના ભાઈ અને મથુરાના રાજા ઉગ્રસેનના મંત્રી હતા. તેમના લગ્ન દેવક અથવા આહુક ની સાત કન્યાઓ થી થયા હતા જેમાં દેવકી સર્વપ્રમુખ હતી. તે વૃષ્ણિઓ ના રાજા અને યાદવ રાજકુમાર હતા.[૧] હરિવંશ પુરાણ મુજબ વસુદેવ અને નંદ બાબા ભાઈ હતા.[૨] વસુદેવના નામ પર જ કૃષ્ણ ને 'વાસુદેવ' (અર્થાત 'વસુદેવના પુત્ર') કહેવામાં આવે છે. વસુદેવના જન્મ સમયે દેવતાઓએ આનક અને દુંદુભિ વગાડી હતી જેથી તેમનું એક નામ 'આનકદુંદુભિ' પણ પડ્યું.[૩][૪] વસુદેવે સ્યમંતપંચક ક્ષેત્રમાં અશ્વમેઘ યજ્ઞ કર્યું હતું.
