૨૦૨૫ અમદાવાદ વિમાન દુર્ઘટના
૧૨ જૂન ૨૦૨૫ના રોજ અમદાવાદના સરદાર વલ્લભભાઈ પટેલ આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય હવાઈમથકથી ઉડાણ ભરતી વખતે એર ઇન્ડિયા એક્સપ્રેસનું બોઇંગ ૭૮૭-૮ ડ્રીમલાઇનર (ટેઇલ નંબર VT-ANB) વિમાન ધ્વસ્ત થયું હતું.[૧] લંડન તરફ જતું આ વિમાન એરપોર્ટના પરિઘની બહાર અમદાવાદના વસાહતી વિસ્તાર મેઘાણીનગરમાં ધ્વસ્ત થયું હતું.[૨]
વિમાનમાં ૨૩૦ યાત્રીઓ તથા ૧૨ ક્રૂ સભ્યો હતાં. આમ બેઠેલા ૨૪૨ સભ્યોમાંથી માત્ર ૧ વ્યક્તિનો આબાદ બચાવ થયો હતો. જમીન પરના ઓછાંમાં ઓછાં ૩૮ લોકો મૃત્યુ પામ્યાં હતાં. આ દુર્ઘટના બોઇંગ ૭૮૭ ડ્રીમલાઇનરની સંપૂર્ણ નુક્શાનવાળી તથા મૃત્યુવાળી પ્રથમ દુર્ઘટના હતી.[૩]

[ફેરફાર કરો]આ વિમાન ૧૧ વર્ષ જૂનું બોઇંગ ૭૮૭-૮ ડ્રીમલાઇનર હતું જે ૩૬૨૭૯ નંબર સાથે VT-ANB તરીકે નોંધાયેલું હતું.[૪][૫] આ વિમાન બોઇંગ એવરેટ ફેક્ટરી[૬][૭] ખાતે એસેમ્બલ કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું અને તેમાં ચાર્લ્સટનની બોઇંગ સુવિધામાં બનાવેલા ફ્યુઝલેજ વિભાગોનો સમાવેશ થતો હતો.[૮] તે ૨૮ જાન્યુઆરી ૨૦૧૪ના રોજ એર ઇન્ડિયાને પહોંચાડવામાં આવ્યું હતું. [૬] તે બે જનરલ ઇલેક્ટ્રિકનાં GEnx-1B67 એન્જિન દ્વારા સંચાલિત હતું.[૯]
એર ઇન્ડિયાએ ૨૦૨૩માં લંડન ગેટવિક માટેના રૂટનું ઉડ્ડયન શરૂ કર્યું. [૧૦] દુર્ઘટના સમયે તે અઠવાડિયામાં બાર પ્રસ્થાનો ચલાવતું હતું, જેમાં પાંચ ગીચ રહેણાંક વિસ્તારોથી ઘેરાયેલ અમદાવાદ માટે હતાં.[૧૧][૧૨]

આ ફ્લાઇટમાં ૨૪૨ લોકો સવાર હતા, જેમાં ૨૩૦ મુસાફરો — ૧૧ બાળકો અને ૨ શિશુઓ — તેમજ ૨ પાઇલટ અને ૧૦ ફ્લાઇટ એટેન્ડન્ટનો સમાવેશ થતો હતો.[૧૩][૧૪] પેસેન્જર મેનિફેસ્ટમાં ૧૬૯ ભારતીય નાગરિકો, ૫૩ બ્રિટિશ, ૭ પોર્ટુગીઝ અને એક કેનેડિયનનો સમાવેશ થતો હતો.[૧૫][૧૬][૧૭] આ ઉડાનનું નેતૃત્વ ૫૫ વર્ષીય કેપ્ટન સુમિત સભરવાલ દ્વારા કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું, જેમને ૮૨૦૦ કલાકનો ઉડાનનો અનુભવ હતો. ફર્સ્ટ ઓફિસર તરીકે ૩૨ વર્ષીય ક્લાઇવ કુંદર હતા, જેમને ૧૧૦૦ કલાકનો ઉડાનનો અનુભવ હતો. The aircraft involved in Thursday's accident carried the VT-ANB registration and was almost 12 years old. The plane was powered by two General Electric Co. GEnx engines.
