ડેટા (/ˈdeɪtə/ DAY-tə, અથવા /ˈdɑːtə/ DAH-tə;[૧] ચોક્કસ રીતે ગોઠવેલા એક અથવા એક કરતાં વધુ ચિહ્નોનો અર્થપૂર્ણ સમૂહ છે.
ડેટા એ માહિતી નથી. ડેટાને માહિતીમાં ફેરવવા માટે પૃથક્કરણ જરુરી છે. ડેટાને માહિતીમાં ફેરવવા માટે ઘણાં પરિબળો જાણવા જરૂરી છે. મેટાડેટા શબ્દ ડેટા વિશેના ડેટા માટે વપરાય છે.
