ટ્યુનિશિયા (تونس) એ ઉત્તર આફ્રિકાનો સૌથી નાનો દેશ છે. સત્તાવાર રીતે આ દેશ ટ્યુનિશિયાના ગણરાજ્ય તરીકે ઓળખાય છે[૯] આ દેશ માઘરેબ (વાયવ આફ્રિકાનો પ્રદેશ) ક્ષેત્રનો એક દેશ છે. આ દેશની પશ્ચિમે અલ્જીરિયા અગ્ની દિશામાં લિબિયા અને ઉત્તર તેમજ પૂર્વમાં ભૂમધ્ય સમુદ્ર આવેલો છે.
આ દેશનું ક્ષેત્રફળ લગભગ ૧૬૫૦૦૦ ચો. કિમી છે. અને તેની જનસંખ્યા ૧.૦૭ કરોડ જેટલી છે. આ દેશનું નામ તેની ઈશાન ભાગમાં આવેલ રાજધાની ટ્યુનિસ પરથી પડ્યું છે. આ દેશની દક્ષિણે સહરાનું રણ આવેલું છે તે સિવાયનો પ્રદેશ ફળદ્રુપ છે. આ દેશ ૧૩૦૦ કિમી લાંબો સમુદ્ર કિનારો ધરાવે છે
ટ્યુનિશિયાને યુરોપીયન યુનિયન સાથે સહકાર્યનો કરાર કરેલો છે. આ દેશ આરબ મેઘરેબ યુનિયન, આરબ લીગ અને આફ્રિકન યુનિયનનો સભ્ય છે. આ દેશે આર્થિક સહકાર્ય, ઔધ્યોગિક આધુનિકીકરણ અને નીજી કરણ જેવા કાર્યોથી ફ્રાંસ સાથે ખૂબ નિકટમ સંબંધ બાંધ્યો છે.
